Our Ethos and Values
The school's philosophy revolves around the words of Christ and this commitment to the values of the Gospel is central to the life of the school in order that we are -
Through God's grace, a community growing in knowledge and understanding.
As a community, we value every member of our school, home and parish family. We work together in a caring, friendly and hardworking atmosphere, where everyone is encouraged to give their best, and we live out the Gospel values of Jesus through showing our love and respect for each other.
Everyone at St. Laurence School, is special and talented and these attributes are further nurtured and developed so that when the children move closer to adulthood, they have a firm foundation in faith, in the joy of learning, and a stronger belief in themselves. At St. Laurence School, we encourage children to celebrate their successes and achievements in all aspects of their lives, and we fully support them in their learning. We are a family who are open and honest, enjoy making and seeing progress, have fun learning, and strive to do our very best.
In Summer 2024, Ofsted, again, rated us as ‘Good’. Inspectors noted that:
Pupils thrive in the richly diverse community at St Laurence Catholic Primary School. It is an inclusive and friendly school where everyone is welcome. Pupils learn from the many different cultures and languages represented in the school. As a result, they have a strong appreciation of diversity. (Ofsted 2024)
In our most recent RE inspection, Summer 2022, we were once again judged as “Outstanding”. The staff and Governors are very proud of the pervasive Catholic ethos of our school and parents identify it as a strength of the school.
